24. Naberius (Nebiros / Cerberus) - Goetia Spirit of Honor, Rhetoric and Hidden Authority

The twenty-fourth spirit described in the Ars Goetia is Naberius - also known as Nebiros or Naberus - a Marquis associated with rhetoric, justice, reputation, and authority within the spiritual hierarchy.

Among Goetic spirits, Naberius carries a strangely disciplined and almost administrative presence.

Not chaotic.
Not impulsive.

More like a judge, investigator, or keeper of order operating behind the surface.

Who is Naberius?

Most classical descriptions portray Naberius as a black crane or raven with three dog-like heads.

Other traditions connect him directly to Cerberus, the guardian of the underworld.

At first glance, the connection sounds symbolic.

But the parallels are difficult to ignore.

A being tied to boundaries.
To passage between worlds.
To judgment and control over who may pass - and who may not.

Modern practitioners sometimes describe him differently.

Tall. Calm. Controlled.
A presence with sharp intelligence and unusually direct speech.

Naberius and Reputation

One of Naberius’ most important functions involves status, reputation, and recognition.

Traditional texts claim he can:

restore lost honors;

remove titles from the undeserving;

expose dishonesty or corruption;

strengthen rhetoric and persuasion;

improve skill in communication and intellectual disciplines;

This makes his current especially connected to public image and social authority.

Not artificial popularity.

Earned respect.

Master of Speech and Influence

Naberius is strongly associated with rhetoric.

But in practice, this goes beyond simple communication.

People who work with him often describe:

speaking with greater confidence;

sharper argumentation;

stronger presence in discussions;

improved ability to defend themselves verbally;

clearer thinking under pressure;

It’s less about manipulation.

More about commanding attention naturally.

Connection to the Spirit World

Many traditions also associate Naberius with the underworld and spirits of the dead.

Some occult interpretations describe him as a watcher between realms - something close to a spiritual overseer.

This may explain why his current often feels serious, restrained, and highly observant.

There’s very little emotional chaos around him.

Only structure.

When Do People Work With Naberius?

In modern practice, Naberius is often approached when:

reputation has been damaged unfairly;

someone needs stronger communication skills;

public recognition or respect is lacking;

truth and fairness are important in a situation;

intellectual clarity and persuasive ability are needed;

His influence tends to work gradually.

Not by forcing outcomes.

But by restoring balance in how others perceive you.

A Practical Observation

People sometimes expect dramatic changes.

But Naberius usually works through correction.

A conversation shifts.
An accusation loses strength.
Someone begins taking your words seriously again.

And slowly, authority returns.
