13. Beleth (Bilet / Byleth) - Goetia King of Love, Passion and Emotional Intensity

The thirteenth spirit described in the Ars Goetia is Beleth - a King whose nature is… not entirely straightforward.

He is often described as terrifying at first.

Appearing on a pale horse, accompanied by the sound of trumpets and instruments, his presence feels overwhelming. Almost like a test before anything else begins.

And in a way… that’s exactly what it is.

Who is Beleth?

Beleth is a powerful King commanding 85 legions of spirits.

Unlike many others, his interaction with the practitioner often begins with a form of pressure.

Not aggression, exactly.

More like a challenge.

He observes how you respond.

Do you hesitate.
Do you hold your ground.
Do you lose control… or stay composed.

Only after that does his current begin to shift.

Love - But Not Simple Attraction

Most sources describe Beleth as a spirit who creates love.

And he does.

But it rarely feels soft or gradual.

His influence is closer to:

intense attraction;

emotional clarity;

sudden awareness of feelings;

strong magnetic pull between people;

It can amplify what is already there… sometimes quite quickly.

The Nature of His Influence

Beleth doesn’t “build” emotions.

He reveals them.

Feelings that were unclear become obvious.
Interest that was hidden becomes visible.
Barriers begin to break down.

At times, this can feel sudden.

Even overwhelming, depending on the situation.

A Spirit That Tests Before Giving

One detail that appears consistently.

Beleth tests.

Not in a dramatic way… but through pressure.

Situations may feel uncertain at first.
Reactions may not be immediate.

And then, once stability is shown - things begin to move.

When Do People Work With Beleth?

In modern practice, Beleth is often approached when:

strong attraction needs to be created or intensified;

feelings are unclear or hidden;

emotional barriers exist between people;

passion needs to be awakened;

personal magnetism needs to increase;

It’s not about gentle connection.

It’s about intensity and clarity.

A Practical Observation

People often expect immediate emotional reactions.

Sometimes that happens.

But more often, it starts with a shift.

Attention increases.
Energy between people changes.
Then… reactions follow.

And they tend to be stronger than expected.
